After soaking up the vibes of the bay, you will be transported toStanley Market, a quintessential Hong Kong street market. Through the morning's activities, you will have the opportunity to sample Hong Kong's best seafood inSai Kung Fishing Village.
Take a short break to enjoy your chosen lunch, followed by a must-do in Hong Kong - a sampan ride that allows you to experience life in Aberdeen. From there, you will be transferred to the western end of Hong Kong Island to exploreNam Pak Hong. Nam Pak Hong is considered one of the oldest districts in Hong Kong, translated as “Southern and Northern Merchants,” representing local institutions. Learn about the original hardworking and community-oriented merchants who established a business and nurtured a community in Sheung Wan. As a center for import and export trade between China, Southeast Asia, and beyond, the surrounding streets are named Nam Pak Hong Street rather than identified by individual names. You will have the opportunity to stroll through this still-thriving area, which was established for the local Chinese during British colonial rule. The tradition of wholesale trade and commerce continues to this day, as it remains a major center for the wholesale of dried seafood and traditional Chinese medicine in Hong Kong.
Go toHollywood Road, one of the original streets built by the British Royal Engineers. Discover its significance as an antique market frequented by foreign merchants and sailors who sold items they had "collected" during their travels in China. You might even pick out one or two for yourself. If you want a change of pace, take some time to visitMan Mo Temple to reflect, as it is one of the earliest Chinese temples in Hong Kong. Surrounded by seemingly endless modern skyscrapers that puncture the sky, you can't help but feel a perfect balance between history and modernity here.
Passing through CentralQueen's Pier, board the iconicStar Ferry and cross Victoria Harbour. Queen's Pier is the heart of the Hong Kong International Bank Centre and is a testament to its status as a financial hub.
